A Taste of the Future
♫ Friday, April 2nd, 2004We recently learned that Alana was selected to attend NC Governor’s School this summer which is “the oldest statewide summer residential program for academically or intellectually gifted high school students in the nation”. She will move into a dorm at Meredith College in Raleigh on June 13 and will stay there until July 24 (except for a short break around 7/4). This is a great honor for Alana — she was selected in vocal performance (Soprano-I) and is one of only 88 music students selected (44 at each of the 2 campuses). The experience will also give Alana her first real taste of college life (dorms, cafeteria food, classes, etc.) As for Denise and I, we will get our first taste of what it will be like when Alana goes off to college.
